Apple TV+ reportedly scores its ‘most-watched weekend’ thanks to the premiere of ‘Palmer’

Apple isn’t keen on releasing any numbers itself, as far as Apple TV+ is concerned. But, according to a new report, this last weekend was a pretty good stretch of time for the streaming service.

According to Variety, based on information shared by “company insiders”, this last weekend was the biggest for Apple TV+. The “most-watched” weekend, according to the insiders. It appears Justin Timberlake helped with that, too. Well, Timberlake’s newest drama, anyway. Palmer, starring the actor/songwriter, launched over the weekend and apparently brought in big numbers for the service.

According to the report, Apple TV+ saw a jump of 33% in its average user numbers. That’s quite the uptick, to be sure.

It wasn’t just Palmer, though. According to the report, the second seasons of the thriller Servant and the dramedy Dickinson helped boost viewership, too. What’s more, international numbers saw an increase, too, thanks to the premiere of Losing Alice.

And this is just for the viewership. Apple had a big weekend in other ways, too. It was reported a couple of days ago that Apple had secured the streaming rights for the upcoming drama CODA, starring Emilia Jones, Marlee Matlin, and Troy Kotsur. The film is directed and written by Sian Heder, and it was a smash hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Apple secured that film for $25 million.

Things are looking up for Apple TV+, it seems. And that can certainly continue with other high profile film and series releases.

Did you check out Palmer over the weekend? How about the second season of Servant? If so, what did you think?
